OPENDATA | STIRLING is the Open Data publishing platform for the Stirling Council area, and is an output of the Open Data project.

The Open Data project was launched within Stirling Council in October 2017, and its development has provided a greater understanding of the potential Open Data (defined as anonymised data free of any commercially confidential detail) has to offer internally and externally across the Authority’s partner organisations, the private sector, the developer community, community groups and academia, and what is required to publish it.

The project is being delivered in collaboration with the other six Scottish city authorities (Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Highland and Perth & Kinross) which, as a group, are referred to as the “8th City Data Cluster Programme”. This Programme is one of several Smart Cities initiatives managed by the Scottish Cities Alliance and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Scottish Government.

As the platform is still under development, the number of datasets published will increase over the coming months..
